‍RICHMOND LIONS SUPPORT…..

‍Richmond Lions have been busy serving the last several weeks.  District 25F received an LCIF Emergency $15,000 grant to assist with flood relief in the district. In addition, a $1500 grant was received from Indiana Lions.  Working with Williamsburg Lions, we were able to donate dehumidifiers, fans and garden hoses to assist with the recovery process in Williamsburg and Cambridge City.  Richmond Lions R. Smith, Talbot, Buckland and I. Smith delivered dehumidifiers, fans and garden hoses to Cambridge City. PDG Jeff Locke and Williamsburg Lions Club President Jim George delivered dehumidifiers and fans to Williamsburg.  As of yesterday, September 21st, both Williamsburg and Cambridge City had ceased accepting donations.  It is estimated our area utilized approximately $5,000.00 of the grant money for flood relief in our area.  Thanks to the following who assisted in this process:  DG Brenda Wilson, PCC Sue Toft, PDG Ken Faulkner and Lion Bill McDonald, Indiana Lions  Preparedness and Disaster Planning Chair.  Lion Bill did a lot of the footwork to order supplies at the best price and then transport them to Richmond.  Thanks to all the Richmond Lions who made themselves available to help, although due to scheduling were unable to help with the actual delivery.

IN ADDITION…..

  • Richmond Lions also helped Fountain City Lions cook and serve pork chops at the annual Levi Coffin Days event in Fountain City on September 19, and 20th.  Thanks to Lions Buckland, Ron and Idris Smith for their time in assisting Fountain City Lions. Their help was much appreciated.
  • Vision Screening team has been busy conducting vision screening for schools in Wayne, and Franklin county.  To date the team of LIONS Buckland, Helton and Hamilton have screened 335 students referring 76 students for follow-up care.
